All practical trainings are offered every semester, conducted in groups of three students.

6 steps to your certificate:

Register

  1. Register for the lab

To register, please follow this link: Register.
If you are already registered, you can follow this link to see your status and to register for other labs: Status.

  2. Make an appointment for the lab

After registration for the labs please contact the lab administrator for your personal lab-schedule.
The lab administrator will then answer your request as soon as possible within a week.
To accelerate proceedings it would be helpful of you to offer several potential appointments fitting your own schedule.
Each training will take about 2 to 5 hours, depending on your skills.

  3. Take part at the lab

Be sure to be punctual! If you are not, you will fail the lab!

  4. Make an appointment for the oral test

After the lab please ask the lab administrator for a schedule for your oral test.

  5. Take part at the oral test

Again: Be punctual, otherwise you will fail the oral test!

  6. Get your certificate

You get your certificate online at the "Service Point" at the end of the semester.

Each training will take about 2 to 5 hours, depending on your skills.

Practical Course OPNET 1

OPNET is a professional tool for the simulation of communication systems and networks. A graphical user interface allows for the reproduction even of very complex systems, detailed functionality has to be implemented using C or C++.

This practical course is offered at the end of each semester as a block course. The actual time and date will be announced at our blackboard and on our webpage (news). The number of participants is limited (Participation in this course is required to be accepted for the course OPNET 2).

Prerequisite is basic knowledge in network technology and in C programming.

Content:

  • Overview on simulation
  • Overview on OPNET
